In Gratitude, I know who I am, and that means I know who you are because we are all the One. Here's some of my story: I was raised (a very resistant and untamed!) Southern Baptist, & from a young age longed for something more familiar to my Heart. When I was seven my parents enrolled me in piano lessons. This became my enduring passion and profession of studying, teaching and performing classical (and pop) piano, which I continue today. When I graduated college I discovered Norman Vincent Peale and found that Heart-satisfying something I had longed for, continuing my spiritual studies after that with Edgar Cayce, Yoga, Psychological Counseling, Rebirthing, the Eastern Philosophies, the Alice Bailey channelings, and exploring the Inner Life and metaphysics. I was delighted to find the same Truth everywhere! I became grateful to my upbringing for having introduced me to the piano at a young age and for having instilled within my Heart a value for the spiritual. Over the years, I have expressed my love for variety through studying and teaching macrobiotics, working in real estate investment and property management, and learning Argentine Tango. The common dance in all these has been expanding to be/do/have whatever I choose, even that which once seemed impossible, as well as supporting others who choose to do so. In December 2001 I attended our Center for Creative Living for the first time, and after 20 minutes of a Sunday celebration I knew I was home! I was amazed and delighted to find a community celebrating a philosophy which was the Truth I had learned on my own for decades! The next month I became a member and began taking classes. About a year later, I chose to focus for the next couple years on my personal life and professional activities outside the Center. I always felt connected to the Center as my spiritual community, however in Spring 2004 I realized that my life was not as vibrant as it had been, so I reconnected and since then have been deepening my study and practice of Science of Mind and my involvement with the Center. I was licensed as a Practitioner in August 2008. I love and am dedicated to this community and to my daily, moment-to-moment practice of opening my heart and mind to the Love and Law of this teaching - and in supporting others who choose to do so! I live a blessed, abundant life! I love the joy and integrity in our community, and I am deeply blessed to serve in this way! I look forward to celebrating with you!

Even as a small child, it was important for me to connect with God. In my quest to experience God, I explored several different Christian denominations. In 1971, I chose to be born again and be baptized as Southern Baptist. I fully participated for over 15 years and became very familiar with the Bible and the teachings of Jesus. I started asking the hard questions to God when I kept seeing the pain and suffering in peoples lives increasing instead of finding the the peace and joy that is promised to us. Thru abrupt changes in my life, I was guided to Asheville in August 2001. The first time I walked into the CFCL was for the Thanksgiving Gratitude Circle. I knew I had found what I was searching for - the living, loving _expression of God! I immediately started classes because I wanted to change the patterns in my life so that I could live the life I have always dreamed of. These were challenging years as old painful programing surfaced. Slowly the joy, love, beauty and connection I so longed for began resonating within me. I am so grateful and honored to be a practitioner. It is my highest calling to know the Truth of who we are in the Glory of God expressed through each one of us.

I grew up in New York, received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Long Island University, and was raised in the Catholic Religion. I embraced Judaism for a short time, was active in a Lutheran Church and eventually became interested in various aspects of what I would call personal growth and New Thought – transcendental meditation, Satchidananda, psychotherapy, the Enneagram Louise Hay, Unity, various personal growth workshops and intensives, Deepak Chopra, etc. In 2004, after retiring from my job of 28 years in Washington, DC, I moved to Asheville and found my way to the Center for Creative Living. My life has not been the same since. From the moment I walked in the door I felt totally loved. The understanding that I create my life through my thoughts/feelings/beliefs took hold in a way it never had before. Through the classes I took and the Sunday Celebrations it became crystal clear that I don’t just create some aspects of my life. I create everything in my life. I love applying the principles of the Science of Mind and I love sharing them with others. Becoming a Licensed Science of Mind Practitioner is one of the proudest and most significant achievements of my life. I love knowing that everything is Spirit and that I am Spirit. And I love sharing this Truth with others. I especially love helping others create their heart’s desires through Spiritual Mind Treatment I am blessed that I retired at 55 and have a loving, supportive wife, a wonderful family of friends, and a beautiful home here in Asheville. |

I am Denise Eden. I chose my name, Eden. It means, the beautiful, blissful awareness of being cared for by God, reminding me always of the presence of Spirit. It was through a series of meaningful coincidences that I found my way to the Center for Creative Living. I was sick one day when my powerful, bold daughter saw Barbara on television. After this she talked about Barbara and her desire to find her, and often said things to me like, "Mom you can make up your life however you want it to be, the woman on television said so." And, then through the magical synchronicity of a dream, I inquired of a friend where she went on Sunday, and she was delighted to tell me where. We walked in and sat down and when Barbara stood up and said, "I know that God is in this place." my daughter leaned over and whispered to me as if she were introducing us, "Oh, Mom, this is Barbara, the woman from television, I knew we would find her." During one of John's messages, he said a most beautiful quote. "You can choose to live your live from your unhealed past or from your spiritual magnificence." When I heard these words I had the feeling of someone turning on a light, and in that light I saw that I wanted to be a Practitioner. A Practitioner is one who knows the truth no matter the appearance. One who is able to weave together words to create a powerful energy that transforms intention into desire. One who practices the presence of Spirit, and enables others to choose to live their lives from their Spiritual Magnificence. I am delighted to be a Practitioner, and I am available on Sunday after the Celebration for Spiritual Mind Treatment. |

My spiritual quest began when I became a student of Yoga back in the late seventies. In 1986 I moved to the Asheville area because I love the mountains, and to attend a local college to study business. I ran several successful businesses. In 2000, a severed marriage and business complications led to personal transformation and a choice to focus on spiritual matters. This is when I found the Center for Creative Living, where I immediately identified unconditional love. I gently integrated the healing effect of Sunday celebrations and the classes in Science of Mind. As a result of practicing this wonderful teaching, my perception of life has been raised to a higher level. My life now includes many who I consider my spiritual family. We share an unspoken, sacred covenant to engage in mutual inspiration and to hold the highest for all. Being a practitioner is a great joy and a "step up" to play at a higher level. Service in Truth, my highest purpose, is expressed in this wonderful discipline. There is a world of spirit that need not suffer nor go without, and we heal by knowing radiant health, abundant prosperity, ardent love and peaceful expression. This is the work of a practitioner. I lead a life that is passionate and fun. After all, as I see it, happiness is the only logical choice. I offer Spiritual Mind treatments to all who request prayer. |

I moved to Franklin, North Carolina from Maryland in 1971, when my father retired from the CIA. My professional background has centered upon counseling, social work, nonprofit management and grant writing. I am passionate about creating self-sustaining programs and services that support people in living their maximum potential. In 1986 I experienced an injury and was given Louise Hay’s incredible primer, You Can Heal Your Life. This was my introduction to metaphysics! In 2003 I visited the Center for Creative Living, a Religious Science church in Asheville, NC, and felt that I had truly “come home to a place that sees God in everyone’s eyes”. After three years of coursework I was licensed as a professional Religious Science practitioner with the United Centers for Spiritual Living. At this time I am now pursuing training that will lead to ordination as a Religious Science minister through Holmes Institute. In November of 2007 I created the Science of Mind Study Group of WNC in Sylva, North Carolina, and today I am happy and grateful to be doing my being, immersed in the joyous teaching of this “philosophy, this faith, this way of life”!

I Am grateful for the opportunity to be in service as a Practitioner of the Center and to express this service in the greater community knowing the truth of who each of us is – a Divine Expression of Spirit. I grew up in the Midwest on a small farm close to nature and have a love for creative expression in many forms. For me, gardening, hiking, dancing and making music all express Spirit in and through my body integrating the joy of Being in the Now moment. I also was raised in a traditional Christian background, with ideas that didn’t always make sense. Questioning what I had learned led me into a study of Metaphysics in my early 20s. I always felt there was something guiding me on to learn more. Through the years, I have studied health & nutrition, yoga & meditation, Transpersonal Psychology, Eastern Religions, Sufism, even an early experience with Science of Mind and a variety of esoteric teachings. Since returning to Religious Science in 2001 and becoming a Practitioner, I have merged all I have experienced. I love Science of Mind. It is simple and to the point. Although not always easy to practice, it calls me to Be More of who I Am. My greatest desire is to touch others to want to Be More. I believe that each choice that is made for Love instead of Fear brings our world closer to the expression of the vision that lies in the heart of humanity – peace and abundance for the world we live in! |

I grew up in a Southern Baptist home. When Sunday came I wanted to be in Sunday school. My first trip away from home, in Florence, MS was to Ridgecrest Assembly where we campers met Ruth and Billy Graham. When I returned home it was Wednesday evening. I took a cab twenty miles to be sure I was on time for Prayer Service. As soon as the sermon was finished I ran down front and said I wanted to re-dedicate my life to Christ. Although becoming a Practitioner was years away (and unheard of for me), this was, no doubt my first step in that direction. It was never a goal, rather it was a journey with which I have been abundantly blessed. In 1959 while working at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis, I met a sailor named Francis Leahy. We were married in 1962. Navy orders always placed us where we needed to be. In 1972 I was introduced to metaphysics through a book on Edgar Cayce. We immediately received orders to Norfolk, VA., where we worked in a group with the Search for God material for five years, one of which I served as study group council chairman. With the largest metaphysics library in the east, I read to my hearts content and attended the conferences with giants in the field. In1980 I joined Dr. and Mrs. Norman Vincent Peal and their congregation, traveling through Greece and then to Oberammergau for the Passion Play. Dr. Peal alone, is a spiritual experience to be savored. Among these studies there was medical assistant school and massage therapy training. While working in Florida I blessed to attend a conference with Elizabeth Kubler-Ross. Who not only taught us the art of the last stage of life, but about life itself. I also had the privilege of traveling to Israel. In my life's "walk about" we had 5 children and 10 grandchildren. In 1995, Francis and I move to North Carolina where it seems we were ready for Science of Mind. I began with the summer Prosperity class and carried my studies through to the Ministerial class. being licensed as a Practitioner in 1998 and Ordained in 1999. In the Baptist Church I learned reverence for all things sacred. In the Catholic, dignity and holiness for ritual and worship. In Unity I learned ALL things are sacred. Through Science of Mind I know the oneness of creator and creation. I truly know that whatever form religion takes, we are all seeking that place where Spirit dwells. |

From 1952 to 1972 I read the Bibles (Christian) and hundreds of books about the Bible and Bible history to know who God is and who I Am. From 1972 to 1996 I read hundreds of metaphysical books to find out who God is, who I Am, who wrote the Bibles and metaphysical interpretations of the Bibles. In 1986 I was given the 1938 Science of Mind book, it was the first time I read it. 1991 was the first time I went to a Church of Religious Science. Late 1995 was the second time I attended a Church of Religious Science. It was The Center For Creative Living, I found a spiritual home. In 1996 I became a member and from February 1996 to July 1999 I was in classes. I have been and continue to be a very active member of CFCL. In 1997 I had a dream in which I was shown how to correctly read the 1938 Science of Mind book, and how to read all written treatments correctly. In 1998 I was licensed as a Science of Mind Practitioner and in 1999 I was licensed as a Science of Mind Minister. In a 2001 dream I was shown how to do the 21 days of mental exercise to create a new belief. In the same year I became a licensed UCRS Practitioner. Since 1999 I have read hundreds of metaphysical books, knowing who "God Is" and who "I Am", truly understanding these books. I've also read most of the books Mr. Ernest Holmes wrote and most of the books about his life. Knowing Mr. Holmes mind-set, I enjoyed these books greatly. |

My conscious spiritual journey began in l975 when I had an almost death experience. I was told there were no medical solutions for my dying physiology and if I wanted to live it was up to me. The stunning revelation for me was that I had a choice about living, to which I gave a resounding “Yes to Life, Yes to Living!” In an instant I was aware of myself as immersed in and surrounded by Light, knowing myself as a Being of Light. I knew that we are all magnificent Beings of Light and we are all One. I knew I could do anything. Although I became aware of and explored many principles of Spiritual living nothing could compare to the Principles of Living and way of life of Religious Science in resonating with what I knew to be the Truth and what I had yet to discover about living it with integrity every day. I am honored to be a Licensed Religious Science Practitioner and overjoyed to be a part of this unique spiritual family at the Center for Creative Living with the people here who dedicate their service and living in the ever-expanding and evolving Science of Mind. |

I was born in 1937 in Atlanta, Ga. My father became involved in the military, and after W.W. II in 1945 we ended up in Dallas Texas where I grew up. I attended an Episcopal High School where, in 1955, I discovered and read the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy. The ideas she introduced me to changed my life and flipped my out of the box I had been in all my life. However, it wasn’t until 10 years later that I had the courage to actively peruse the Truth that I know in my Heart that she had awakened. The journey was long and involved many paths: “Spiritual”, “Psychological” and “New Age/New Thought”, all interesting and thought provoking, but none completely satisfying. In 2000 my wife Anna and I came to some workshops in the Asheville area and decided to move to Asheville. We liked that area, and in 2004 met John and Barbara Waterhouse who introduced us to Science of Mind and the teachings of Ernest Holmes. Finally what I know in my Heart to be True was manifest. Before me, behind me, around me, inside me, Spirit is. I am that I am, and I am One with Spirit. |

I grew up in upstate New York. I graduated from Syracuse School of Cosmetology. I enjoyed my professional as a hair stylist for 25 years. Owning my own salon was an ideal opportunity for me to express creatively and productively. My high school sweetheart and I married, had two children, then divorced nine years later. My child and I moved to Huntsville, AL to experience southern hospitality. I attended the Huntsville Church of Religious Science in 1985 and started classes that very same day. After a year of Science of Mind classes I changed my profession to a home health care provider. I owned and worked as a caregiver for nine years until I retired. After my 2nd year of classes I attracted my right and perfect mate, Joe. We met while I was a greeter at the Huntsville church. We've been married 15 years. I completed four years of course work and I then received Practitioner license from Religious Science International. In 1995 Joe and I retired to New York state. We built a log home on the shore of Lake Ontario and lived in it two years. Now we summer there. We moved to Asheville in September 2002. We were attracted to the area by crafts, the beautiful mountains, and the Center for Creative Living. The people at the Center are our spiritual family. We have attracted two 12 year old granddaughters, Sylvia and Kelsey. We are so blessed. My other interests are hiking, gardening, nutrition, traveling and painting. I am honored to be a Science of Mind Practitioner. I hold the highest and best for you in my treatment work. |

I am truly blessed because I was born and raised in these gorgeous mountains. They are a big part of who I am. My husband and I own ChemDry of Hendersonville and have 3 sons and five grand daughters. We came to the Center at Asheville for a summer prosperity class in the summer of 2002. Everything I heard resonated with something in my soul. It was like remembering something I had know but had forgotten. I had been raised Southern Baptist with a yearning for something more. I started going to classes and with each class and more knowledge my life improved. I am freer, more joyous and happier than I have ever been. As a practitioner my honor and joy is treat for others to improve the quality of their lives.

I grew up in Peoria, Illinois. They call the Midwest the Heartland. I resonate deeply to the quality of Love. In 1972 I had a spiritual awakening, where I knew I was so much more than what appeared as my body and mind and the conditions around me. I followed the Self-Realization Fellowship path forged by Paramahansa Yogananda for a number of years. And during that time I taught Sunday school and meditation classes at Unity Church. I also studied Theosophy, Ram Dass, Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle and many others. I joined a spiritual organization called Mark-Age as a staff person in 1983 and served there until 1999. What a blessing each of these light focuses have had in my life. From each one I grew in awareness of who I am as a Being of Light. In 2003 I came to the Center for Creative Living for even deeper realizations of Spirit. I began with attending the Sunday services, but soon realized I wanted a deeper understanding and took the beginning classes then Practitioner classes I and II. I love being a Practitioner at the Center and living the Science of Mind principles. It is an integral part of my soul expression. My life changed dramatically over the years at the Center for Creative Living with greater prosperity, love, joy, wisdom, more friends, radiant health, a loving partner and so much more. I love doing Spiritual Mind Treatment, knowing that God is all there is and I express as God. There is such a freedom and a sacred opportunity of service in knowing the Truth for myself and for others and living in that free state of consciousness.
